After watching the live new briefing of the first image from Titan, I went to the ESA site to view it further. After reloading the page a few times, the following image appeared, labeled "First Image From Titan". However, several minutes later, this

| Huygens Probe Images? | 15 Jan 2005 14:46 GMT | 1 |
I'm trying to find a decent picture of the Huygens probe, as it would appear after landing (i.e. after shield jettisoned etc) as it is now; either a photo of the probe before launch, an artist's image of the probe or an artist's image of the scene on Titan, but with a clear view of ...

I am a newbie in astrophotography. I wanted to ask if somebody in this group knows about the following items: 1. if there is a cheap digital camera in the market that I can use to capture images in the night sky without a telescope (I know this sounds

| An ocean on Titan? | 15 Jan 2005 11:37 GMT | 4 |

| Q2 Machholz Infopage | 15 Jan 2005 11:23 GMT | 1 |
I imaged Q2 Machholz and have a movie showing its motion across the sky during an 80 minute period. I have shrunk the movie to a mere 208 kB for my modem viewers, so please take a look. Simulated eyepiece view through the NP101, finder chart, isophotes,

| Titan will be destroyed! | 15 Jan 2005 09:54 GMT | 13 |
While showing a group of primary school kids the delights of Saturn the other night, I pointed out that the 'star' to the edge of the field of view was in fact Titan. I then explained to them that Huygens would be parachuting down to the surface of Titan. One of the

| Optrons Telescopes | 15 Jan 2005 04:41 GMT | 5 |
Has anyone had any experiance with Optrons telescopes? The reason I ask is that I would like to get into astronomy but until I find out if I like it or not I do not want to spend a lot of money on a scope. Having said that, I want a reasonably good scope - realy looking at a ...

| Relative speeds and distances | 14 Jan 2005 22:11 GMT | 1 |
If most matter(maybe superclusters) have been separating at an ever faster rate for 13+ billion years, what is the minimum percent of the speed of light the furthest group is now traveling relative to our speed? How does this relate to the

| Tal 2M - collimation | 14 Jan 2005 19:32 GMT | 7 |
Apologies, but my new scope has probably contributed to the gathering of the orange cloudy things upstairs. It will hopefully wear off soon. I need to collimate a Tal 2m, and this looks reasonably straight forward. (if you have long arms or suitable assistant.)
