I'm going to Hawaii in August and wanted to check for some darksky sites.
My first thought was to find a Hawaiian Clear Sky Clock location and use
the light pollution map link. Then i realized CSC doesn't cover Hawaii.

Linguists criticise IAU <Pluto>31 Aug 2006 19:18 GMT9
Following the logic applied by the IAU, Linguists Noah Chomsky and
Jeffrey Nunn have pointed out the word Planet starts with 'p'. So does
'Pluto' !
They contend Pluto must be reduced further in status and remaned. "You
Sun/cloud phenomena help31 Aug 2006 16:59 GMT3
My wife & I were driving home & we were admiring what appeared to be
the Sun behind a cloud giving off a multi-color appearance.  Then we
noticed this wasn't the Sun; the Sun was about 15 degrees further south
of this rainbowish ball in the cloud.  The Sun was covered with light
palette or chart of star colors ?31 Aug 2006 14:18 GMT5
To create renderings of stars I need to know their spectral color to

For example, I try to render Pollux and its exoplanet.

Comet 177P/Bradford30 Aug 2006 17:43 GMT8
I observed this comet Saturday night (Aug 27 UT) in a Celestron GPS-11,
in a 38mm wide-field eyepiece (80x). It was quite high up in the sky,
near Mu Draconis. No tail was seen, and no details, just a faint fuzzy.
Still, it was not difficult to see, from a reasonably dark site about ...

How to measure tilt30 Aug 2006 12:12 GMT5
I'm interested in measuring the alignment of an object relative to a
fixed plane.
As it happens, it's my saw blade relative to the saw table, but that
shouldn't matter much.
Ceres and Pluto are Planets.29 Aug 2006 23:33 GMT20
Ceres is definitely dwarfish, but pluto is just smallish, more
plutoish.
Both planets nevertheless. Lane clearing my a.s.
