Morning All I have just installed CDC on my computer and was getting 'acquainted' with it for a few days when we had a power failure. Before the failure I was able to bring up info on any object by clicking

| SCT Collimation | 31 Jan 2005 20:08 GMT | 6 |
How well do Celestron SCT's hold collimation typically? Do they require frequent re-collimating, if transported and used gently, or is collimation a once-every-few-months sort of thing? Thanks!!

Just wondering, in Quantum computing, how fast does information travel between entangled particles? I would imagine it's 'c' but I can't currently see why (if it wasn't 'c' then I guess it'd be more common knowledge as the implication is that it'd be instant and that

| New Elcan apo refractor is spectacular | 31 Jan 2005 15:13 GMT | 17 |
I went to the Photonics West SPIE convention this past week in San Jose CA. There must have been well over 1000 optics companies in the exhibition hall, an incredible turnout. I visited all I could in the time I had, but stopped the longest at Elcan's exhibit, as they were

Believe it or not A. Jaegers Optics is back in business after an absence of 20 years! The items they are selling on their website appear to be the same items they were selling back in the 60's, including the old Edmund type equatorial mounts and clock drives. They are located ...

Anyone use a laptop in their observatory or outside? Do you have any problems doing this? Which laptop computer would you recommend? A Panasonic Tuff-book would be nice but are rather expensive. Are there good alternatives?

| Toronto seeing conditions | 31 Jan 2005 04:40 GMT | 5 |
I was shocked! Usually in the winter the seeing is terrible, owing to heat rising off structures, turbulent atmosphere, etc. But, last night it was terrific! Finally had some decent views of the Moon and Jupiter.

| ...but a Digital Astrophotographer's Work is Never Done | 31 Jan 2005 01:58 GMT | 1 |
Thanks to the many people made kind remarks and sage suggestions about my first through-the-telescope deep-sky images, made on January 27 and 28. It's human nature; I couldn't just let it go. I revisited the M42 image several times in Photoshop, and I have posted my third "final"
