The Deorbit burn was a fuel wasting burn, pointing out of plane was to burn
up more OMS fuel, lighten the vehicle. They also dumped 58 seconds of
forward APU fuel, get the CG right.

Craig,
I heard a couple references to something having to do with 57
seconds. Houston called it up as 57, the crew read it back as 50 and
ground corrected them to 57. Any idea what that was about? Was it
related to this forward RCS burn?

Forward RCS propellant, not forward APU fuel. All three APUs are in the
aft compartment.
