I think everyone in this newsgroup had it nailed when they said that
Lisa Novak ended more than just her own astronaut career.  Saw in
today's paper the guy is leaving NASA.

Hard to imagine how he could fly again without the press mentioning this
rather embarrassing (to NASA) incident.

That's also why you didn't see him with the rest of his crew at
the White House, nor on the now-infamous European tour on which
he wanted to take Colleen Shipman.  He also didn't receive the
usually automatic promotion officers get when they fly into
space, so I wasn't surprised to hear this, I just wondered how
NASA would time it.

It really is a shame that in this day and age, the media still dictates such
things. Of course no tour or flight containing him would ever  just be able
to talk on mission related stuff, as the media will always call him the love
triangle astronaut.  Surely people ought to be credited with more sense than
this?

After the hundreds of love-triangle posts in these newsgroups -- where
presumably the high-minded gather -- you have the nerve to point a
finger at the *media*..? GMAFB.

He didn't leave NASA - they sent him on his way...
