I heard this because at that time the cross winds at Edwards were outside
limits. Luckily the trend for the Kennedy area had shown the showers
dissipating before they reached the 30 mile mark. Interesting then that just
a few minutes after touch down, it was raining on the runway.
I gather Florida weather is notorious for its fast changes.

I live in Houston and that is the way it is here. I have seen it rain on one
half of the freeway but not the other. Any sub tropical climate is that way.

It sounds like we pushed the flight rules to the limit to get to KSC. It
sound like we almost flew the shuttle through a rain shower.
I would love to have been listening to the flight loop as the GO/NO-GO
decision was being made. I can picture Flight beating up the weather guy to
get a weather GO call from him.
