'Star Trek' Actor George Takei Comes Out
LOS ANGELES — George Takei, who as helmsman Sulu steered the Starship
Enterprise through three television seasons and six movies, has come out
as a homosexual in the current issue of Frontiers, a biweekly Los
Angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community.

And you found this little bit of information so important that you had
to post this to "atl.general", "sci.space.shuttle", "alt.drugs.pot" and
"seattle.politics"; calling the poor guy a "turd burglar", "rump
ranger" and "butt pirate" in the process.
Talk about obsession.

It's been suspected for a very long time, so no big surprise here.
There have been 'One of the Original Trek Cast Members Is Gay" rumors
for years, and Mr. Takei was by far the most logical (ahem) contender.
Like Robert Reed's coming out didn't effect "Brady Bunch" reruns one
iota, I see no impact on "Star Trek" from Mr. Takei's decision to no
longer conceal his sexual preference.

Nobody's surprised by this. Besides...who cares?

Apparently the small segment of the population that
seems to be completely obsessed with how strangers
have sex...
