I am not sure what is more cool.

The SRB video, or the fact that it has audio!
Mike Dennis - 30 Jul 2005 19:16 GMT
That was pretty amazing!

Is that new video or is the one from the tank?

Yep, very cool.  Just watched it on NASA TV.  The audio is pretty spooky,
like that from a sinking ship.

I was shocked to hear that. Being blind though, it would have been nice if
they had said which srb was the first one they showed. I noted more dings
from debris on the second one than the first at sep.

You can plainly hear the changes as the fuel burns. Very interesting. I love
all the tinkles and dings at the end.

Left first, then the right.

Also, the camera went underwater briefly on the right SRB.

Anybody know where you can download this video?

Just seen the SRB video tonight, and it is pretty amazing! I love the
way you can see the other srb pirouette, and the way it is sparking as it
does so looks amazing. The audio of the srb just before splashdown is
weird - wondering what all the rattling sounds are. Obviously the
microphone is picking up what sounds like a hollow tube (srb with all the
fuel burnt out and hence gone), but it really sounds like something is
rattling around inside there - could it be a spanner accidentally left
inside?!

Is there a link to the SRB video? Google does not have it yet.

It sounded to me like the parachute fittings rattling around.

How does one get to see this video?

It'll probably run again at the end of the day 5 update that is airing
on NASA TV as I type.

Yeah, this was great...  I caught it somewhere in the middle and at first
thought it was some kind of malfunction with the gyros on the station... :)
Then I realised...
I've seen it again since from the beginning...
Interesting how the wind noise was so quiet at the top of the trajectory
then gradually increased in intensity while falling. The ambient sounds,
resonance and dings gave a good impression of the size of the tank, and what
it would be like to hitch a ride...  yeah!
Not a very human experience, but fascinating!
