They still haven't infested Safari for the Mac yet.
Someone on a web forum I frequent said there's an insidious new
spyware thing going on for Windows where you install some ordinary
software and you get a .dll installed along with it called vserve.dll
which allows all sorts of advertising crap. Apparently the creators
of vserve.dll paid enough cash to some software vendors to get them to
piggyback installation of this gem along with their own software.
Anyway, if you're having a lot of popups in Windows despite the
presence of popup blockers, do a search for this file and rename it or
delete it, then reboot and see if it helps.

If AdAware and Spybot haven't solved the problem (you
did look at those links I sent you, right?), try this:

Thank's, I'll take a crack at that.

That's because Geocities has recently changed the way its frame ads
appear - to make them more persistent. My Mozilla still blocks the
popups, but Geocities also embeds sponsored ads in a frame that is
added to the HTML code. It is icky, but it is also free webspace.
I'll endure the ads any day if that is what I have to do to see Rusty's
material.
