Well it should of been a race to get a new low cost to orbit launcher
operational........

but thats now what nasa cares about, their purpose is pork piggie

How much of that is inherent to NASA and how much of that is a NASA
response to the behaviours of those to whom they must go begging for
funding - ie the U.S. Congress?

probably driven by congressional payoffs.

congress needs strict term limits and publically funded campaigns.

congress term limit, 2, and token pay.

congress lifetime job with cushey retirement doesnt serve our country

It's only our hard earned loot and precious time that we don't have to
spare.

If there's any risk to the general population, they've been warned to
get out of the way, so it's their own damn fault if they choose not.
It's kind of like war.

Too bad it's all a game, and apparently it's a game that we're not
very good at.
