Anyone else look at _this_ image:
http://sun3.lib.uci.edu/~jsisson/gifs/statsp4.gif
...and think, "To Serve Man".

You can really tell how old this is because all the men are still wearing hats.

Hey, here we go...I had _this_ one. I _knew_ it'd be in here:
http://sun3.lib.uci.edu/~jsisson/gifs/won.gif

...and, y'know, now that I take another look after all this time, that is
still some of the sweetest cover art I've seen, from any of my old space
books. All the other stuff -- even the fairly-accurate (for 1965)
portrayals of Apollo mission operations -- looks hokey now, except for
this one painting of the EVA pilot of what looks like some kind of
DynaSoar variant, stepping out to do a little satellite maintenance. In
fact, even today, the only thing in this foto that doesn't look "right" is
the EVA crewman's lack of a gold sun visor over his faceplate which, at
the time, I considered a serious faux pas, coming as it did _after_ Gemini
4, when we all found out what the well-dressed EVA crewman was wearing
that year.
