Hi all,
I saw in a store that they had on sale a bunch of DVD edited
by NASA on Appolo 15, Appolo 8, Saturn.
Does someone own one of those DVD ? are they interesting as
they are quite pricey.
Thanks for any information.

Hi Jean,
Check out http://www.spacecraftfilms.com/ I own these DVD's and they
are wonderful. If you're a big space buff you'll like them.

Based on the titles and the price, they sound like they are probably the
Spaceflight films DVDs which are now published by Fox. Were they in black
boxes?

If so, yes they are pricey, and yes they are worth the money if you are
interested in the subjects.

They are not really edited by NASA, they are original NASA/Government
footage edited by Mark Gray of Spacecraft films, along with new narration.
In addition to the edited footage, they have lots of supplemental footage.
For example the Gemini and Saturn I and Saturn V DVDs have footage of the
launch of every Gemini-Titan, Saturn I, and Saturn V respectively, as well
as interesting engineering development footage such as from the cameras
inside the tanks of the Saturn Is.

Hi Rick,

Yes, they are in black boxes. Thanks for the information. I am now torn
by which one to buy (they are all interesting). Appolo 8, 11 or 15.

I have Gemini and Apollo's 8, 11, 14, and 15, the last 2 of which are in
their previous edition's boxes.  I understand how torn you must be about
which one to buy because of the price.  I also couldn't possibly afford to
buy them all at once but I would treat myself to another one every 3 months
of so.  Now that I have them, I consider them money well spent and I watch
them all regularly.

I can't wait for Apollo's 16 and 17 to arrive.  When they were sold in their
previous edition boxes, I couldn't afford them, but they should be reissued
later this year in the black boxes.
