By heck, all seems very quiet at the moment...
Does this mean that everyone is happy with full Boinc caches, various
oddball machines humming along contentedly, network lights blinking
furiously...?
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html
does show a lot of green boxes (:-))
And:
Database status
State Approximate #results
Ready to send 683,198
In progress 2,166,344
looks very healthy.
Hopefully various users won't get too greedy with their caching...
Happy crunchin',

HA! Greedy for my Pentium 120 would be a whole 2 WU. I won't be
breaking the WU bank anytime soon.

That's the most green boxes I've seen on that page before. Only one red.
Which one is the Snap appliance, any idea?

I'm hoping to drop my cache sizes when it becomes more stable to increase
credit validation times. However it seems that recently the machine
(feeder?) that hands out WUs has been going down regularly and coming back
up about every couple of days.

None of those listed.
If the Snap goes down, that's when they all go red!
(:-((
(And various people start to go red also... (:-((

It works, but what do we call it?
Can't just call it BOINC, because it controls more than just the SETI
project. On the other hand, we can't call it SETI because the controlling
program is BOINC.

The best idea I've seen so far is "s@h2".
Boinc is a support framework that looks set to support many DC projects.
Hence, "s@h2" is a "Boinc project" which is all an example of
"Distributed Computing".
(The original "s@h" is now often referred to as "s@h classic".)
Yes?

Well I had to give up 5 years of SETI, because I hadn't kept my email
address up to date. And codes were sent to an old address. Had to start
over.

Whatever 'loss' is only for the old stats number transfer for that
user-address.
The old stats are still there and listed.
The WU results will still be in the database for science.
And now there is a new set of projects...
Congrats for the good crunchin' done for s@h classic.
Good future Boinc crunchin'!

Martin

I think everyone just realised that at the mo there's a lot of problems with
hardware and software so most ppl have done what i have and gotten some
classic units to work with the old s@h if my boinc ever runs out. Also a
lot of ppl have gotten attached to more than one boinc project so there pc
is never idle.
I still hope that s@h boinc gets itself sorted soon...
