Dear users,

I have been informed by the electrical company that there will be a
power-outage on Feb 24 2005 between 13:00hrs CET and 16:00Hrs CET.

This is apparently a planned outage on which they will be working on the
cables on the entire street.

This is a period that the UPS can not bridge so you will not be able to use
any services during this time.

Mails you send will be kept in the queue of the provider unless you send
directly through DNS.

I know this comes a bit inconvenient now with Berkeley suffering as well but
this is something where I have no control over.

The servers will remain online until the UPS takes over and shuts down the
systems.

Once the power is restored all servers will automatically boot-up so it's
quite possible that we are earlier online than expected.

I'm sorry if there is any inconvenience caused.

Sincerely, Merlin

Dear users, The planned power outage today took a little longer as was
expected.

Power was shut off at 13:15 CET as was restored at 16:40hrs CET and all
systems were back online by 16:46hrs CET.

In total we were down for 3hrs 30min.

Everything went automatically as planned and beside the off-line period no
further problems were reported.

Again I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

Greets, Merlin
