Twitty Thanks for your offer to help. I seem to get through, and then
when I want to email back it tells me this AOL "error" Go figure. I go
through all the steps again, and again. I love my web more and more each
day. **8 years and it never even got a head cold. Gates even paid half
for a new receiver 3 years ago. I wired my webtv myself. I pushed all
the right buttons with no outside help My monitor is a 27 inch color
screen. It boots in as fast as a phone call It gets upgraded 2 times a
year. I can type 25 feet from the receiver. It has no crazy arrow. It
needs no mouse,or like my laptop with its much to sensitive pad. Webtv
is so user friendly I can honestly say it was programmed by Gates
himself. Bert
Hey Bert,
Like Twitterer says, you definitely need a tutor-er..
especially to show you how to pull up the 'control panel'. You can
customize the hell out of the rig to your liking, like enlarging the
font size, de-esnsitizing or turning off the touch pad altogether,
smoothing out the 'arrow's' action.. until the thing is a pure joy to
use. When you get proficient on it, does your telephone company provide
DSL service? If so, that's the way to go. You can use the phone and
computer at the same time. Here, the DSL service is only $12.99 a month,
and it's combined with the phone bill, all under one billing.
I got the new rig with the intention of dumping the old Webbie. But no
way. The old girl far excels at one thing: doing NGs and serving as a
spam trap.
The new rig reputedly has very robust spam filtering. But
so far, i'm not ready to "test the waters" by posting on a NG with it.
It remains blissfully, 100% spam free. The old Webbie is a very
functional adjunct, and i wouldn't think of dumping her now.

oc I bought the laptop because it is portable. I would never give up my
webtv I did get an email I sent to myself this morning. That is a step
in the right direction. I think if I did not have the fast ease of
operation that a web gives I might know how to use the computer better.
go figure Bert

Bert,
I sent you an email,
Reply to it, as a test. I think you'll get the hang of it.
