Personally, I believe the Universe is infinite and eternal.
Thus, if there really are any "big bangs", then they would
occur locally on a scale which can only be deemed relative.
Alleged evidence for a cosmic "big bang" is flimsy at best,
but I respect those who believe in one or more variants of
the "big bang" theory. Just as I respect those who believe
in the theory of "evolution". But they need to acknowledge
that a very significant percentile of the world's populace
do not confine their own personal beliefs to what orthodox
science or religion believes, teaches, etc.
That's one reason I believe that the theory of Intelligent
Design will become a tremendous springboard, a renaissance
for academia, which will catapult science and religion into
new and uncharted territory: by including the plurality of
theories, observations, tests, conclusions, teachings, etc.
in the mainstream curriculum of public schools, and higher
education across-the-board. I believe humankind will learn
to respect the great diversity of scientific and religious
opinions, and will thus learn a great deal from each other,
and in the process learn a whole lot more about themselves.
