How much of an impact has string theory had on cosmolgy? I don't really
know enough about string theory and really need to learn more about it.
Both astronomy and cosmolgy of the universe has always been a passion
and hobby of mine. I even have my own cosmology website I did aa few
years ago but I'm thinking I really need to add something about string
theory into it. Right now it's mainly based on Einsteinian physics and
ideas and pretty much just traditional astronomy and cosmology. Where's
a good place to start to read up and learn more about string theory
cosmology both websites and books? Thanks for your time, Jo.

AFAIK string theory or its' latest variant "M" theory have no empirical
support.

Jo  I can do better than this in my next post but my first thoughts
reading your post right now are these. The heart of string theory is
extra dimensions.  Read up on "multidimensional holes.'  A donut is in
the micro realm" Torus's fit well in the macro realm.also  Mirror
symmetry fits well in both realms.  M-Theory has good thinking in both
realms. All universe's energy such as EM come from strings in the micro
to creating lightning in the macro.  Messenger particles are the
vibrating energy of curled up strings, and we detect them in the macro as
photons, and gravitons.  Best Jo to keep in mind before the BB the
universe was curled up vibrating strings, and after the BB explosion came
your good questions  Please Jo don't use my thinking for answers in a
school test.  Bert

Since it's still just speculation, probably none.

Jo A force field comes out of the micro, and has a string theory to
explain it.It gives us the messenger particles in our world. Thus we are
getting communications from the sub-microscopic realm.   Bert

Are you starting to hear aliens in your brain, BEERTbrain?

I agree with M theory. I just can't work it out on paper.
