Now I'm really chomping at the bit to get my hands on my CPC1100. Has
anyone heard or, more importantly, seen the new super-nova in the
constellation Aries?

I'd be very interested to hear about anyone's observations!
Cheers,
Tom

I imaged it last night (fair enough... you've posted this question to
several imaging groups <g>). It's an easy target, showing up with just a
couple minute exposure. I have an 80-minute exposure posted at
http://www.cloudbait.com/csas/grb060218.html . Visually, this object is
going to be tough. I calculated the V magnitude at close to 18. I'll
check it again tonight and see if it's getting brighter as predicted.

Chris,
As usual your photos are incredible! I've not chimed in to often on these
groups but always admire your work. Thanks for responding. I'm also
looking forward to seeing if this gets brighter.
Cheers,
Tom

Sadly, it's well out of my capabilities, even if it was the right time
of year :-)

Great stuff, and thanks. Make sure to keep posting links to any images
you get.
