I've been seeing a lot of this message lately, whenever I try to
return to the alt.astronomy list of posts, often after having just
posted. What's up, Google? Is this supposedf to slow down our rate
of posting or something? Are any of the rest of you seeing this
message? I know Google picks on me, because I seem to the only one
having to enter almost unreadable security words everytime I post!
So, what's up, Google? I know you guys at Google read everybody's
posts and everybody's gmail, so what's up with this?

It's because way too many folks are reading our stuff. I've
frequently gotten that same message instantly after posting a topic or
a reply. It's a server bandwidth limitation, whereas we're exceeding
what even Google can fork out. You must be saying something
interesting, or embarrassing to the mainstream, that which the public
media simply isn't allowed to take or extract anything in or out of
context from Usenet/newsgroups.

Once again, Google/Groups (aka Usenet/newsgroups) is broken.
Perhaps It's because way too many folks are reading our stuff. I've
frequently gotten that same message instantly after posting a topic or
a reply. It's a server bandwidth limitation, whereas we're exceeding
what even Google can fork out. You must be saying something
interesting, or embarrassing to the mainstream, that which the public
media simply isn't allowed to take or extract anything in or out of
context from Usenet/newsgroups.
Otherwise, this morning it's stuck once again because of another multi
terabyte storage unit and its multiple CPUs failed to perform
everything that has to happen in order for their search engine to
properly function.

I too have that problem every time I make a post to my favorite
groups... I got the last two weeks, were I got the message "The
archive for this group is currently unavailable"...
But I dont know what it is...

It means we're causing too much traffic flow, as in hogging too much
or at least more than our fair share of the Google Usenet/newsgroup
resources by having too many folks trying to read our stuff. That
could be good or bad news, depending on whoever is doing most of this
topic reading.

Not only is it becoming unavailable more and more often, but Google
has recently excluded their "Search Groups" function, of pulling up
related topics from within our public Usenet/newsgroups. You can
thank the brown-nosed and potty-mouth clowns for that one.

In addition to the "this group is currently unavailable" message, now
it seems our Google Groups is quietly making public access for viewing
these Usenet/newsgroups a whole lot harder to deal with. Looks as
though the free ride to research, discover whatever is most recent and
to publish via Usenet is just about over when you can't even use the
Google "Search Groups" function in order to check for whatever is
happening or getting reported across the entire body of Usenet public
newsgroups (moderated groups being nearly useless anyway).
It seems we now have to go specifically into a given newsgroup in
order to individually accomplish a local "Search this group". This
means the general public will be kept a little more unaware unless
they’re already smart enough, of which few are.

btw; notice how my kosher shadow keeps close tabs on everything I

Is the Google archiving of the most recent topic index and "Search
this group" plus especially their dysfunctional "search groups" for
whatever, as screwed up as it seems?

Time was I could use Google search of the groups to find out
everything about Brad Guth for instance. Now I can't find jack!

Wow! How did you get all that information? But I had the impression
that she and Michael had split. Didn't hear too much from her after
that. She used to post to a Jahova's Witness group. I think she had
some bad experience with that religion in her family. That may be
where I "discovered" her and invited her to post to alt.astronomy. I
can find some of her posts using just the regular Google web search
But using Google's Usenet search, I can't find any.

I search Google.COM sites first, looking for the most-recent stuff.
“B” doesn't want to be found, apparently, so she doesn't make it easy.
Michael Wallace is much more public but, on useNet, less so.

Well see if Michael responds.
From July 2005:
"In pleasant dreams
All's well it seems
My love is here
My path is clear
My fears unwoken.
Till morning's cry
Breaks off the tie
Brings back the lie
That life's gone wrong
And I am broken.

Well stop Choken
Find a token
things unspoken .
Best left alone!!
Inwardly poken .
No ..
Much better a stroken ..
Too much a smoken ..
On what life's thrown ..
try Jokin'
<g>
Brings laughter
During after math!!

A lot of our stuff is preserved on sites like Astronomy Forum, Physics
Bantor, Space Bantor, SpaceKB, etc., even if Google has lost its
memory, trashed its files, lost its backups, or whatever.
Such as this lovely poem by Bee I found on www.astronomyforum.net:
Oh Beez we be
We swarm so high
Our worlds are worlds
Within worlds ..
Wew "High-FIY" !!
Everything is double ..
in doubling from height ..
We see into seeing .
And what's seeing through flight!
Oh double benders
we create splenders ..
Doorways to more
of such ...
To explore ..
We sense the holes ..
We see as wholes ..
When those that move
Through that one-eyed groove ..
It can be smoothe
If we turn down our buzz ..
And listen on inner
The sound current ...
No Fuzz!
Some like what we gather,
Some steal through the night .
Yet we still leave our pollens,
For those with in-sight!
We love to be helpful,
And and mostly unseen ..
Yet sometimes we need to,
Just sting in between..
But only if only
Another does start,
To disturb and bring "shudder" .
We buzz hard through our heart ..
If when and if when ..
It is do or die.
We will sting to the very end ..
With others left ..
Wondering why!

I remember that Bee sent me a private email about the wall board they
were making from recycled paper. They were looking for places like
plywood plants in other parts of the world that could manufacture it.
Seemed that they were still testing it and getting government
approvals back then. Seemed still hush hush back then, so I never
posted anything about it.
