Heh. Certainly the belief in void space or 'space-as-Nothing' would be
a hallmark of a "Type 0" civilization. Graduating to "Type I" would at
least entail recognizing space as most profoundly 'Something'.
Listen to this excerpt from a BBC interview with
Dr. Kaku:
Pieter Verhoeven: What is meant by "Bubbles of Nothing"?
Dr. Michio Kaku: Boiling water is a purely quantum mechanical event.
If water molecules were like billiard balls, water would never boil.
Water boils and a tiny fluctuation occurs in water. Similarly,
universes maybe created all the time, even as we speak, due to
fluctuation in Nothing.
Clearly, Kaku's "bubbles in Nothing" bespeaks his
unwavering adherance to the Type 0, 'space-as-void' doctrine. 'Void' =
zippo, nada, Zero.
Over in that new thread AA just posted, 'Gravity as Spaceflow', watch
for the totally predictable, shrill, 'Type 0' yip-yappery from the
usual contingent.. just as follows saying "Ruff" to the pit
yorkie. :-) oc

Very profound Officer Oc as usual and yes the hounds are baying
in the kennel as we speak. Potential Spatial Flow Sub Planck Energy
understanding is one of the hottest science research topics being
analyzed in advanced theoretical science and least understood by the
clueless yappies. Only after years and years of co peer Officer deep
mental pondering does one begin to even grasp it's relative quantum
field multi model deduced simplicity and beauty.

Bruce, if you keep posting to alt.astronomy, people might start
thinking it's kooky!
