Space Forum / Amateur Astronomy / July 2009Anyone heard anything more from Galileoscope?
When the Galileoscope was first announced on Phil Plait's site, I ordered two of them in a single order. Much later, I ordered another one, plus one to be donated. Here it is the end of July and I have received one scope. I assume this is the one I ordered later, as the two from the first order would have been shipped together, unless the folks running the program like paying shipping costs twice. I seem to recall reading about some difficulties in the earliest days of order taking. If I recall correctly, records of some of the earliest orders may have been lost. Perhaps it's time to make contact and ask about your order. I wonder if you can order on-line or over the phone from Griffith Observatory. I was just there and they had like 20 on the shelves. I bought one. Not such a big deal when you factor in the (lack of) shipping costs, but if you need it transported to you, it's a bad deal at GO, I think.
