It looks like all this week will be "The Pits", it's raining out here right
now. I just hope the plastic sheeting I put on the roof slows down the
weaking of the trailer roof that the owner calls an "Act of God" I call it
to laze to work.

And if you want to check the rain totals west of you, go to
http://www.drchapleau.org/weather/weather.html

Looks like we'll be in for it all week, Dennis.

I gotta make it out to see you one of these nights after lecture!

All mine are inside the trailer and where it's not leaking threw the roof,
so they are staying nice and dry.

But you may awake in Lancaster on the morrow.
Starlord - 28 Feb 2006 04:51 GMT
It's been a steady rain, but not the gully washer like what we got last
year. Just before dark I walked out and checked the garden and so far no
real big ponds had formed and the drainage channles I'd dug where just
starting to collect some water. I've got two rubbermaid tubs and a bucket
catching the rain water coming threw the roof.
I think I'll move my old Atari 1040ST system just to be safe.

Well, if it's a Newt and you seal both ends and the focuser _really_
well then the 'scope tube makes a pretty good artificial log that you
can use to float on the floodwaters.

Except it's a bit too heavy at the mirror end and tends to sink,
so..er...forget that idea. No, seriously, forget it. It's a crap idea.

Will, most of the time the High Mojave Desert is or can be Hot and dry in
summers with it being cold and dry in winter, but we do get rain now and
then, when the storm track dips down south, then the rain door opens up. The
rain out in Rosamond is mostly at an end for this storm, as the rain came in
from the southwest, the costal areas and mountains got far more than we did.
But it's now cold and windy which means a day inside mostly.
